Born from AgenticFlow and shaped by our community, Ishi is the 意圖的基石 (Cornerstone of Intention)—the solid foundation where your will becomes action.
The name "Ishi" echoes the Japanese word for Will and Intention. In Chinese, we found an even deeper meaning.
Our journey began with AgenticFlow. Our mission was simple but ambitious: to democratize AI agents and let anyone build complex workflows without code. We built a platform where ideas could flow freely.
But as our community grew, we realized something was missing. The "Flow" needed a vessel. It needed a local, dedicated presence on your desktop—a "body" for the intelligence to inhabit, so it could perceive, plan, and act right where you work.
We built a solution. We called it Claw. It was designed to "grab" tasks and execute them. It was powerful, fast, and effectively a "$60,000 digital employee"you could download.
"This is bigger than just a tool."
A YouTube viewer (@tatuanui) put it perfectly:
"You really should rename it. Not only is it similar to Claude, but when you say it, it sounds like Claude. So much so that even the YouTube auto-subtitling thinks you're saying 'Claude'."
You demanded an identity that matched the sophistication of the engine we were building.
We turned to our community—the builders, the tinkerers, and the dreamers in our Discord. We searched for a name that represented not just what the AI does, but what it is.
We found Ishi (意思). In Japanese, it means Will or Intention. It represents the spark of agency—the difference between a calculator and a companion.
But then, a community member (DingChing) gave us the missing piece. He reminded us that Ishi also echoes the word for Stone (石)—the Cornerstone.

That was the moment everything clicked. We weren't just building a tool to grab files. We were laying the foundation upon which the future of work will be built.
Ishi is the result of that dialogue. It is a "Bring Your Own Key" Executive OS built on two pillars:
